Hungry for some fresh design inspiration for your home, including your bathrooms? This fall Mr. Steam got an insider's look at the latest in European design as a sponsor - and delighted attendee - of BlogTour London (see Mr. Steam Sponsors Modenus BlogTour to London Design Festival), which sent a group of 14 design bloggers to the 2012 London Design Festival.
In that earlier blog article, we promised you insights and highlights from BlogTour London. Here, we share with you the first in a series of interviews with each blogger who participated in BlogTour London. You'll learn which designs they loved the most at the festival, how they apply design trends to their home and bathroom designs, along with their predictions for new design trends in 2013.

Here's what Raina had to say about the experience and inspiration she found on BlogTour London:
Mr. Steam: Raina, what are the newest, most interesting design directions you saw during the London Design Festival?
Using traditional patterns with a fresh ironic twist.
I loved the bold, often tongue-in-cheek designs of these plates made by Flux in Stoke on Trent.
Mr.Steam: How might you apply these trends to your own work?
As a stylist my work tends to bend to the particular client and job I am working on, though it definitely veers towards a clean look. I tend to appreciate a variety of styles and will continue to include some of the new fab items I found in London into future shoots.
Mr. Steam: What do you think the impact of these trends might be on American residential design? On bathroom design?
Personally I would love to see modern design become more universally used throughout the States and not just thought of as Ikea.
Here's an example. A faucet with clean, modern lines offsets a particularly bold bathroom sink in this piece from the London Design Festival.
Mr. Steam: Did you notice any differences between design in London vs. the US? Or do you find that residential design is becoming more international?
European design and particularly British design was more modern than much of the US designs. There also seems to be much more support of small independent designers in the UK than the US.
Mr. Steam: What was the most interesting thing you learned about Mr. Steam and/or about steam showers?
How easy they are to install in a home bathroom. I have been craving a steam shower for years and thought it was out of my reach. I can't think of anything better after a long day on set then coming home to a steam!
