Mr. Steam Sponsors Modenus BlogTour to London Design Festival

Design matters. Particularly for beautiful bathrooms. That's what we've discovered based on the relationships Mr. Steam has built with designers and showrooms focused on in-home steam rooms and spa systems. When the opportunity to sponsor the Modenus BlogTour to the London Design Festival came up, not only did we embrace it, but we also participated. Mrs. Steam [aka Martha Orellana] was there every step of the way!

If you've never attended an event like the London Design Festival, it's amazing! It includes public installations in Trafalgar Square and special events all over the city, ranging from trade events to lectures to product launches. The 2012 festival took place from September 14 - 23.

BlogTour is a project of online design resource Modenus, which invites a select group of the best interior design and lifestyle bloggers to visit the world's most inspired design venues - in this case the London Design Festival which "over ten days in September, .. featured hundreds of events which took place across London, showcasing the city's pivotal role in global design."

Sponsored in part by Mr. Steam, the five day BlogTour trip included visits to designer showrooms and private design events, along with lots of blogging and tweeting. Martha took part alongside the participating bloggers and absorbed design trends and designer insights so Mr. Steam can better understand designer needs as well as how trends become interpreted into final home designs and affect steam room design.

Mr. Steam knows design matters. We see it in the way designers think about flow in a space, and how it enhances the living experience. We observe it in how design integrates all of the purposes that an indoor space provides, including bathrooms, saunas, steam rooms and other spaces that revitalize body and spirit.

Imagine, though, participating in the design process at its earliest stages - when designers immerse themselves in design trends and the overall zeitgeist that takes place at an event taking place in a place which considers itself the design capital of the world aka London!

For that reason, we couldn't resist!
