Never one to shy away from a new health and beauty product, I thought the TALA Bath & Body Gift Set by MrSteam seemed like the perfect combination of skin pampering products for a luxurious bathing ritual. I was eager to experience it.
I was especially intrigued to discover that each TALA product is made in Morocco using the purest of ingredients. Each product’s authenticity is reflected right on the TALA packaging, with less than a handful of ingredients in each. None of these products include a laundry list of chemicals, parabens or dyes.
In fact, even the TALA name itself reflects Moroccan tradition and renewal. This Arabic word describes a sense of wellness and rejuvenation that conjures “a palm, a cool fountain spring, a beam of bright morning starlight…simply heavenly.” While TALA products may be used as healthful additions to your own home spa or wellness ritual, they can be also used without a steam shower.
Upon opening the lavishly-packaged TALA gift set, you find four beauty products, described in detail below, as well as the Hammam cotton terry cloth exfoliating glove. A Hammam (which in Arabic means “spreader of warmth”) is a weekly traditional cleansing ritual that many Moroccans still enjoy today.
Argan oil is hailed as the liquid gold of Morocco. Traditionally used for generations by Berber women as a beauty tool, it helps to feed the skin. Its nourishing capabilities help sooth a wide variety of skin imperfections, making the skin feel more supple and soft to the touch. My experience with TALA’s 100% pure argan oil is nothing short of transformational. For years, I’ve combatted dry skin on my hands that is exasperated by Chicago’s cold, harsh winter weather. Coming off of a particularly cold winter season and a dedicated schedule of gym visits, I was very conscious about keeping my hands well-moisturized. Nevertheless, the skin on my hands never quite healed completely.
After only one application of the argan oil, my hands felt noticeably smoother. Pleasantly surprised, I continued to use this oil throughout the following week. The result? Like I said, nothing short of impressive. Not only were my hands silky smooth, but all of the redness and rough skin were gone as well. I only wish I had discovered TALA’s argan oil sooner. Without question, I am going to continue using this product for its exceptional moisturizing properties.
Like the argan oil, the TALA Bath & Body Face Cream is specifically designed for dry and dehydrated skin. In fact, the cream is enriched with the same pure argan oil that is part of the gift set. I used this cream on my face, as well as my hands. Upon application the cream immediately illuminates the skin’s appearance. I would recommend using this product at night, as I found it to be slow in its absorption. The cream’s velvety texture and pleasant aroma make its application feel like an opulent spa experience; it's perfect for unwinding after a stressful day.
TALA’s Rhassoul Lava Clay is a mineral-laden clay extracted from the mines of the Moroccan Fez region. The dried, silken powder easily transforms into a smooth clay when mixed with water. While I chose to use the lava clay as a facemask, it is versatile enough to be used as a body exfoliant and hair mask as well.
I have tested many different face masks from several brands throughout the years. I consider my skin to be more on the sensitive side, so it's particularly important for me to select a pure, high-quality product for a mask. I found the clay to be very easy to apply around my face and neck. It is smooth, void of rough granules, and dried very quickly on my skin. I left the mask on for the recommended 15-20 minutes before washing it off. Upon rinsing, my face was noticeably brighter and my pores tightened.
Later, I realized that the mask did not simply draw out impurities in my skin; but it also soaked up excess oils, as I felt noticeably less oily in the days following its initial application. This I found to be the most unique benefit of the Rhassoul Lava Clay-- my skin benefited long after its use.
The Beldi Black Soap is a supple paste of black olive pulp. It touts the benefit of nourishing the skin, all while exfoliating the surface and leaving it moisturized. As recommended, I used the Beldi Black Soap with plain water in the shower, while my skin was warm and wet. After ten minutes I used the exfoliating glove to wash off the soap, which produced a rich lather, leaving my skin feeling smooth and refreshed.
Indeed, all of these skin-pampering TALA products allow me to relax and enjoy a luxurious spa-like experience right in the comfort of my home. The TALA Bath & Body Gift Set is a wonderful addition to anyone’s health and beauty regimen.
