It therefore feels great when a third party reaffirms our success in this regard, which is exactly what happened recently. We are honored to have been named a Platinum Award winner for our revolutionary AirTempo steam shower control in the Awards for Design Excellence (ADEX) competition, sponsored by Design Journal magazine.
The ADEX competition is the industry’s largest and most prestigious design awards program, recognizing the crème de la crème of product and project design. In the case of the AirTempo, competition judges were impressed by its sleek design and installation versatility.
The AirTempo steam shower control is the industry’s first wireless control for the home. The elegant and upscale trim design comes standard in chrome and is also available in six designer finish options to match any decor, including polished nickel, brushed nickel, polished brass, brushed bronze, oil rubbed bronze and polished chrome.
In addition to being sleek, the AirTempo control is flexible. It can be placed virtually anywhere, since there are no wires to route through hard-to-cut surfaces such as granite or marble, or transparent surfaces such as a glass shower wall. A flush mount option is available if you want a seamless look, or if you are replacing an older MrSteam control. Included with each AirTempo control is a matching, high-grade, cool-to-the-touch steamhead.

AirTempo is smart, too. It features a large and easy-to-read blue LED display with the option of a black or white glass face. Icons indicate the current status of the AromaSteam Aroma oil injection system and the ChromaSteam® Mood lighting system. The touch-activated glass screen panel responds quickly to your fingers. If left idle, the panel automatically goes to sleep to save energy while still maintaining the programmed settings.

You can also undock the AirTempo and use it to activate the steam bath remotely before entering the shower. The generator automatically shuts down if the control is not returned to its dock within five minutes, saving energy in case you get tied up.
All of these innovative features factored into the ADEX judges' decision. Points are awarded in several categories for each ADEX Award entry, with total points earned determining each product’s score. Each category has the potential for three award levels: platinum, gold or silver, with minimum scores needed to qualify for each award level. Winners were announced in the April issue of Design Journal Magazine.
This is not the AirTempo’s first time around the awards block. It also recently earned a 2016 Architizer A+ Award Special Mention in the Accessories category, a competition celebrating the year’s top architecture and building products from around the world.
